Summer is almost over!

I did not intentionally take a blogging break but we just got so caught up in summer that every time I THOUGHT about blogging, I figured I would do it later. Well summer is almost over and we sure did make the most of it this year. We did all sorts of things including fabulous play dates with friends, traveling to water parks, birthday parties and lots of running the roads. I have to say that this was probably the best summer we have had in a LONG time. We got up when we wanted, ate when and whatever we wanted and played until we were all played out.

Lexie has grown up so much. We have had some challenges this summer (AKA Miss Smart Mouth that her daddy SWEARS she gets from her mama) but overall we have had a blast. Here are a couple of pictures from the last month or so. I say "a couple" b/c I took well over 500 pictures this summer. Maybe one day I'll do a blog of nothing but "pictures" but for now these will have to do.

Playing at the kids area of Splash Kingdom in Canton

She was insistent on going down this slide in the kiddie area without a life jacket. She loved this slide until she realized that she was tall enough to go on the "BIG DOUBLE SLIDE" for adults. Then she wanted to play on that one!

This is my friend Erica's son and daughter. Erica and I have been friends for over 20 yrs and they came to stay with us for a couple of days. Lexie was head over heels in LOVE with Layton and wanted to be around him all.the.time. Totally not the reaction I thought we would get with a new baby in the house!

This picture makes me sad. This was taken on her 1st day of Mrs. Pam's 3 yr old preschool class.

Lexie is now back in preschool M-F from 8:30-11:30. She absolutely LOVES it and asks to go as soon as she wakes up in the morning. She has really missed all of her friends and of course Karen and her precious "Baba". I have completed all my application information to start school in January and now I'm just waiting to see what I need to do to start then!

This summer has been a blast. I am so thankful for the chance to be at home with her!!

  1. Summer takes on a whole new meaning when you have a toddler! Glad you all had a great one! Next summer will be better for our family since I won't be 9 months pregnant & will be able to do so much more physically :)
