This is my 1st full week with Lexie and we have had a whirlwind of activity. There is so much to do when you aren't on at "time clock". Here is our week in a nutshell!
Monday I had to go grocery shopping so I decided to pick up Mimi and take her along. Lexie did GREAT in Walmart and rode in the buggy the entire time. Usually she is with both of us (Ryan and I) and she is able to walk. I have spent alot of time talking to her about how if it's just her and mommy she has to ride in the buggy. She did wonderful and I was so proud of her. We decided to bring Mimi back to our house for the day since I had to go take supper to a friend later than night. That way I just dropped Lexie off at Ryan's work, took our friends supper and then took mom back home. Mom and I stopped by Target before I dropped her off for some "girl time". We had a great time. Lexie LOVED having Mimi over for the day so I think we will start making that a "weekly event". I love that we are getting to spend so much time with mom. :)
Tuesday we went to Mike Wood's part for a couple of hours in the morning. We only stayed about an hour and a half b/c it was H.O.T! Since Ryan had a late meeting we decided to head over to Tori's house for an afternoon playdate and supper. We had a great time and Lexie LOVES playing with Tori's girls who are 5 and 1. Of course we have to remind Lexie that Claire is "little" and that she has to be patient with her. She was WORN OUT by the time we got home. :)
Wed we spent majority of the day with Tori. She is recovering from gallbladder surgery and isn't suppose to be lifting Claire. Lexie and I went over so the girls could play and her mom could have some free time to get some stuff done. They played with play dough, toys, watched Dora and had lunch. When Tori's mom returned LExie and I headed home for a quick nap. She wound up sleeping from 2pm-4pm and we missed Happy Hour at Sonic. The nerve of her to make us miss Happy Hour. LOL!
This picture was taken on our way over to Tori's. Lexie LOVES this little bear that Mrs. Barbara gave to her for her 1st birthday. It sings "Jesus Loves Me" and she knows almost all the words. I love to hear her sing with her bear. This is her new "cheese" grin.
Thursday we decided to try out the "free" movies (this week was Charlotte's Web)at the Boardwalk. I was a little skeptical about taking her this morning since she woke up an hour and 15 min earlier than her usual time. It turns out that she has some "drainage" out of her ear that is bothering her so we had to get some drops called in for it. Anyway, we decided to give it a try b/c it's free after all right? NOT. Lexie saw "pocorn" and HAD to have some of it. I got a Diet coke and Lexie feasted on Diet coke, popcorn, and a ring pop. She did very well throughout the movie and stayed seated the entire time. I was very proud of her. After that we caught a ride on the "train" AKA Trolley. As you can see she was pleased as punch to be riding the "train". (She was slightly tired).
Tomorrow we are headed out to the Alexandria Zoo with Cheryl, Brody, Lora, Tori and Mikey. I can't wait to see all of the together. It's going to be so much fun!!
As for staying at home, I love it. I love the fact that we aren't on a "time clock" and with the exception of making sure we get a nap sometime during the day we are free to do whatever we want to do. Lexie will go to VBS next week at the "daydare" from 8:30-11:30 and she is super excited about it! She can't wait to see all her "friends".
