Yesterday was Lexie's first time to attend a gymnastics class by herself. We originally started gymnastics shortly after she turned 2 and went to an evening class on Wed afternoons. This did not work out so well due to the fact that she was just exhausted by the time class started from being at daycare all day. So in May we decided to take a break for the summer and we started back up in August with an earlier class. She did pretty good in the Sidekicks class (AKA Mommy and Me class). Recently her teacher who also happens to be a friend that we love recommended that we try the next class up. This class she would go down by herself and mommy would stay upstairs and watch. She was going to attend last Tuesday but b/c she was still recovering from being sick we decided to attend our first class this week.
She did wonderful. She listened and though she didn't get every station done correctly, she still did a good job. She listened and followed directions so well. Here are a couple of pics. I'm still trying to figure out my new camera so they aren't the best quality.
Ready to go!

Doing warm up stretches

How big does she look???

Doing "donkey kicks"

Another station!

Those legs are so long!

We have heard from her teachers at Sunday school and preschool that she is a very good "student". It's nice to see this side of her and makes me realize that even though we ALL struggle as parent's we must be doing something right!
Wow! We need a place like that around here! Addy would love it!
ReplyDeleteYou so do! Lexie loves going to "nymnastics". :)
