The New Year

I can't believe it's already the 5th of January! This past week has been fun of fun, tears (for mommy) and birthday celebrations. Lexie's birthday was last Sunday and on Monday she started back daycare full time. The last 6 months we have been on what I refer to as our "fun schedule". Basically for 3 months we did whatever we wanted and napped in the late afternoon. Starting in August Lexie went back to preschool (mornings only) and we still had our late nap time. This worked out great but doesn't work out so great now that I'm starting back to school full time and she is now staying at daycare all day long.

Monday was her first day back full time and she did great. According to her teacher she ate great and napped right along with the rest of the class. I am so thankful that she has adjusted so well. Mommy on the other hand hasn't adjusted as easily as I thought I would. It's been very hard for me NOT to rush out the door at 11:30 to pick up her smiling self. Instead I have done as I promised my husband and waited until after nap time. Yeah, that means I make it to 2:30 or 3 at the most. Then I'm rushing out the door to go and get her.

I have already paid my tuition, got my books and I picked up my Student ID this morning. I am so super excited about going back to school. This is something that I have wanted to do since before we even got married and I am thankful that we are in a position to be able to do that. I know that Lexie and Ryan will adjust just fine and I know that starting next week my days will be spent studying, studying and studying some more. I'm excited to start a new chapter in our lives.
