Playing with animals!

Last weekend we decided to take Lexie to a place called "Hidden Oaks Farm" in Haughton. We didn't care too much for it but Lexie seemed to like it. I just felt it was too pricey to be a "farm" in the back of someone's house. The people were really nice and Lexie enjoyed herself so I guess that's what really matters. Here are a couple of pictures. :)

Yesterday Lexie and I took a field trip with the daycare to "Jubilee Zoo". This was an AWESOME place to take children her age. They had several different animals, a hayride where the animals came right up too you, the "jumpy thing" which was worth the money in itself, pony rides and even showed us how to milk a goat. Lexie had a wonderful time.

Today we went and visited Mimi. Mom has been in the hospital all week due to complications from her Congestive Heart Failure. On Tuesday she was admitted due to low oxygen levels, low blood pressure and fluid retention. They are in the process of getting all of the fluid off her heart so she is getting ready to come home soon. Hopefully either Saturday or Sunday.

On the way to the hospital I told Lexie that we would stop and see the "babies" on the 3rd floor. She was insistent that their were no babies at Mimi's. I explained to her that yes there were babies and that when she was a baby she was there too at that same place. Her reply was "I not a baby today mommy. I a big girl". Yes Lexie you are. When we got up to the 3rd floor I was glad to see a newborn baby "fresh out of the oven". This baby was under the warming lamp on "her" (according to Lexie) tummy with nothing but a diaper on. At this point we did not know if it was a "boy baby" or a "gurl baby" as Lexie puts it. Well the baby started moving and Lexie got so excited. She kept saying "Ohhh, she moving!". After a couple of minutes we headed off to see Mimi. As soon as we started walking away from the nursery Lexie burst out with "I want one of those". I said "What?". At this point we were 1/2 down the hall and that was random. She replied "A baby sisser". That just made me smile. This is coming from a 2 yr old that until recently didn't even LIKE babies.

We got to Mimi's room and the entire time we were there she kept talking about "going to see that baby" and a "baby sisser". After visiting Mimi, singing songs with Mimi and having a snack we headed back down. We stopped on the 3rd floor again and this time the "she" baby was actually a "HE" baby. He now had on a hat and a shirt and the nurse was "swaddling" him to take to his mommy. Lexie kept asking "Where the other baby?" b/c she was insistent that this was not the same baby. I explained to her that this was the same baby and he was going to see his mommy. I thought that would be the end of the "I want one of those". Nope, not at all. ALL THE WAY to the Library Lexie talked about wanting "one of those". Then she kept telling me that she wanted a "gurl baby" not a "boy baby okay mommy?". Finally, I just told her that we would get whatever God gave us and we would love it and take care of it. She agreed to that.

By this point we had reached Target. The babies were soon forgotten or so I thought. We happened to see a baby in a baby carrier when we were checking out and Lexie proceeded to tell me "I want one of those". I then told her that babies were ALOT of work and who would help mommy with a baby. She looked me dead in the eyes and said "My daddy do it". This girl has an answer for everything. Needless to say this just made my day. Of course I'm thinking that Lexie thinks you can pick one up off the shelf at Target and return it when she decided she doesn't like it. Wonder how that will go when the time comes? LOL
